If you find yourself in northern Boone County, Missouri at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, stop by Perche Baptist Church for Sunday school. Having experienced it, I guarantee you'll be welcome. Construction on this beautiful church began in 1915 and was completed 1916. Sand from the nearby creek was used to form the blocks, and the traditional stained glass windows were transported all the way from England. The tower bell was gifted to the church by Sears Roebuck.
I believe that the current church replaced a wooden structure on the outskirts of the manicured cemetery. Walk through the cemetery and you'll notice that some headstones are so old and weathered that the names are no longer recognizable.
